Holland Park House

A major refurbishment and modern extension to a later Victorian mid-terrace house in Holland Park.

Holland Park, London

The design merges the new and the old with the faithful restoration of the original period feature where possible with the merging of restrained modern detailing on newly constructed additions.

Two simple framed stone boxes, one set on top of the other, form the new double-storey rear extensions. The new extension massing reflects the form and massing setbacks of the original existing rear elevation.

The new basement’s landscape design and sunken courtyard layout repeat the simple punched hole form in the horizontal plane.

Bespoke Ironmongery

New bespoke ironmongery was designed by Jason Good in collaboration with ize in the form of simple reeded door knobs and pull handles.

The ironmongery has a tactile and crafted feel similar to a part-made coil pot and straddles the contemporary and historic.
